Hey guys, hope everyone is doing great!Being a big fan of the NBA and of successful people who are known to have amazing work ethics I naturally admire Kobe Bryant. After watching a bunch of videos and reading blogs/articles about him I wondered what I could learn from and how I could bring his mentality and practice methods into the world of BJJ.

This is what I’ve come up with so far and it’s really helped me.

I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think about it. If you go about drilling in a different way I’d love to hear about it!

Visa Runs – The BJJ Lifestyle’s Less Glamorous Side

Hey guys, how is everyone doing?
So before we get into the current video blog post I wanted to share with you guys that imbjj.com has reached a little milestone as it appears on the first and second page of Google search under “BJJ vlog” and “BJJ video blog”! It’s really cool to see that the blog is growing and this week I had a person whom I’ve never met before recognize me and say that he enjoyed watching the entries about Thailand before he came here. I know I’m a nerd, but I thought it was cool. lol.
Along with that I took a bit of time to reflect about the blog, the vision I have for it and had some really good talks with some very helpful people. Needless to say I’m really excited as to what’s to come. Oh, and if anyone has any ideas for a cool logo let me know. :)
Ok, so on to this week’s blog post! In this week’s entry I share with you guys an experience every expat who lives in Thailand has to go through, the visa runs. It’s a very unique process that I have yet to completely understand its purpose and I thought it would be interesting for you guys to see.
Stay tuned in the following weeks for “Training for Warriors – Next Level Strength and Conditioning” and “Kobe Bryant’s System for Drilling Berimbolo’s – A Measure of Quality”
Please leave a comment and let me know if you enjoyed seeing something different like this and feel free to like and share if you did.

The Kata Beach BJJ Open, Phuket, Thailand.

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing great!

So my computer is back from the dead and so is the video blog. lol.

This week I wanted to share with you my experience from the Kata Beach BJJ Open that was held in Phuket, Thailand.

One of the hardest things for me out here is finding opportunities to compete so I was thrilled when the guys over at Phuket Top Team decided to put on a competition and was even more stoked when I got offered to be part of a submission only “super fight” showcase. Unfortunately, my opponent was a no show at the event and quite honestly I was very annoyed. He volunteered to compete against me and regardless of what reasons he might have had to bail on it (he was healthy) he could have said ahead of time and not deprived me of the opportunity.

Despite this the organizers were nice enough to enter me last minute into the gi portion so I still got to compete. It was a really fun and unique event. I had a blast and was excited to hear that they plan to make this a bi-monthly event! Anyway, here it is.

Hope you enjoy and please share!
